There are a lot of reasons that either flooring or subflooring could be uneven. Most commonly, the reason will be some sort of concrete surface, or if you have a remodel that has many levels of subflooring. Ideally, you want to remove the flooring and subflooring you have and then replace it with new subflooring. Unfortunately, it’s not always within people’s budgets to do this. That’s why we want to give you another option. Here is what to do if you want your luxury vinyl tile installed on flooring that is not even.
Level Out All Deformities Your Flooring Has
The first step is to level out whatever defects your floor has. This either means you’ll fill lower places with a self-lifting solution, or you’ll place high spots in your concrete. You’ll also want to see if there are any deformities in your subfloor’s pipes. A floor leveler is a great tool to use. Place it on your concrete floor, and then proceed to use a trowel to smooth everything out. Before you install any luxury vinyl tile, make sure your graders have dried for a day.
Clean Your Slab, Then Start Dusting
Fastening your luxury vinyl tile isn’t as easy to do if dust and debris are getting in the way. For this reason, you should take a little time to clean up the floor before going through with the installation process. Brooms, mops, and vacuum cleaners are all appropriate tools for this job.
Make Your Measurements
You should know your flooring’s direction and how wide your room is before you install any luxury vinyl tile that you have. When you know the dimensions of your boards, as well as your room, you can determine the number of boards that can fit in a single room.

This is tailored around the homeowner who needs to get their unit ready for the season or simply enhancing their home but does not want to leave their home or can’t make it to town (Ocean City, Berlin, Salisbury, Worcester / Wicomico County Maryland & Sussex County Delaware).
